The 5G generation communication standard will be introduced in Japan starting in March 2019.
The 5G communication standard with 10-fold speed will be operated specifically by three major Japanese operators NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, and Softbank.
Japan's Minister of Interior and Communication, Masatoshi Ishida presented the idea to consider frequency allocation for 5G at the end of March next year.
"I hope to be able to provide 5G services at an early stage, which aims to allocate frequencies for 5G at the end of March 2019 based on our discussions with cellular companies. I want to take them seriously," Minister Ishid said on Friday (10/10/2018)
NTT DoCoMo, KDDI, and SoftBank show plans for the next generation "5 G" communication standard a year ahead of the initial schedule ahead of the 2020 Olympics.
The 5G generation is known to be 10 times faster than the 4th generation 4G communication standards and is expected to be the main industrial infrastructure in an era when IoT and others are widely spread.
Regarding 5G, in addition to the three big cellular companies, Rakuten has also announced practical applications in 2020.
