With climate change increasingly threatening the preservation of nature, protecting the sea is becoming increasingly important. Hotels in Japan such as ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort in Okinawa are trying to do that.
Since 2003, this hotel has been involved in the "Team Chura Sango" campaign. Chura in Okinawa dialect means "beautiful" and sango means "coral" in Japanese. For years, the hotel has been trying to maintain the cleanliness of water, throwing crown thorns starfish (explosions of starfish populations that eat coral reefs can threaten the sustainability of coral reefs), and plant seeds of coral reefs.
Guests can also contribute to this by participating in a campaign carried out by the hotel namely "Plans to Maintain Coral Reefs".
The "Plan to Maintain Coral Reefs" program invited guests to find out the latest conditions of coral reefs in Okinawa and to request permission for coral plantations at the Onnason fish port. They are also taught to make seeds that can protect the conservation of coral in the sea.
Submarine Jr. II (Underwater Observatory Ship) operates at 14:30 16:00. The price of a submarine tour is 7,000 yen for adults aged 13 years and over and 6,000 for children aged 6 to 12 years. Both prices include tax. Each tour is limited to only 20 people.
Guests can join the Coral Reef Snorkeling at 4:00 p.m. 17:40. The price of this tour is 10,000 per person for adults and 8,500 for children. Both prices include tax and tours are limited to only six people for each tour.
There is also a Coral Reef Diving dive tour at 21:30 to 23:30 p.m. The price is 17,500 for adults aged 13 to 64 years and includes taxes. The logbook and certificate card are needed for this dive tour. Each tour is limited to four people and is only available depending on weather conditions.
Some of the costs for this program will be donated to projects that help protect coral reefs in the sea.
